Synopsis

Mrs O. suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. Her story is told by combining documentary footage with her own filmed diaries, which she shoots using a portable digital camera. With this device, she records instructions for various activities in her daily life, memories, thoughts and comments, trying to preserve them from being forgotten in her memoryless future. Through the individual story of a gradual loss of memory, the film reflects the attitude of post-communist society towards its recent history.

A word from Tënk

This film takes a unique look at Alzheimer's disease, renamed "Alda" by Mrs. O, a woman who suffers from this condition. Using an amateur digital camera, she documents and comments on her daily life, to avoid forgetting… forgetting herself. Oscillating between her subjective point of view and the one of the filmmaker who offers us another perspective on this reality, this skilfully staged film builds a narrative with a lively rhythm, surprising humor and touching humanity.
