Synopsis
When the human soul experiences a rupture, it can seem irreconcilable. Is there an antidote to heartbreak? Wandering through his neighbourhood after dusk, a young man, searching for answers, inspires friends and strangers to open their hearts to him. Encounters, confessions, slips: the autumn night sheds inhibitions.
A word from Tënk
Once upon a time there was a Mile End. And in this Mile End lived a man named Severyan. His heart was broken; a breakup had left him dejected. One night when the moon peeked over the horizon, he left his house and walked through the streets of the patchwork neighbourhood where he lived and chased his swirling thoughts night after night. (He was not a human who tended to leave his house during the day.) He went from encounter to encounter, from parties to solitary loitering, from cats to railroad musicians to alleys. His trajectories seem so random that we almost want to offer him some little white stones to drop behind him to find his way home again. But Severyan was not walking alone. He was followed by a camera and a filmmaker hungry for new situations. Severyan was an excuse to peek into intimate moments between the many and variegated people he bumped into as they moved along their paths. This trio carried on through the night without stopping, searching for raw authenticity and reflections on fidelity. A trio who, you’ll soon see, lived happily ever after.
