Synopsis
Part observation, part performance, and a collaboration between father and son, Everything Lives looks at how Ken experiences time in the barns where he works; the time he spends playing, the time unique to painting or the time it takes to build a whole life. This short 16mm film is an intimate series of surfaces, sounds and events that together form their subject: the artist as father.
A word from Tënk
ouden ex oudenos
Ken sings with the birds
Incidentally, he paints
Sometimes, he sculpts
In the afternoon
In the countryside
The light warms his face
One day
Loved ones visit him
It’s his birthday
A mischievous child then reveals itself
Still alive
He has never left Ken
A labyrinth stretches along the coastline
Leading to an unexpected journey
Meanwhile, the credits gently float along the shore.
