Synopsis

Agnès Varda returns to the people she met in her 2000 documentary on gleaning and meets some new people who were inspired by her film.

A word from Tënk

Rare are the films that allow us to look back on the impact and reception of a documentary. Shot two years after the immense success of her previous film The Gleaners and I, Varda invites us to her mythical apartment on rue Daguerre to take stock of the situation. The prizes and trophies won are quickly sidestepped to focus on what really interests her: encounters. This is what has always been at the heart of her creative process, artistic approach and social commitment. A sort of post-film narration in the "I" tense, this sequel happily reunites us with the people who participated in the first opus, and many others, crossed in the course of the letters, offerings and heart-shaped potatoes that have flooded the filmmaker's apartment since the release of the film. As if the ideas gleaned and shared via the cinema were spreading, creating a bond and gradually transforming our world.
