Synopsis
A completely hand-made historical micro-epic about the final minutes in the life of Andrew Mynarski, Winnipeg’s doomed Second World War hero. Mynarski Death Plummet is a psyche- delic photo-chemical war picture on the theme of self-sacrifice, immortality and jellyfish.

Filmmaker Matthew Rankin crafts a rich and unique cinematic work, influenced notably by silent film, animation, experimental techniques, and Canadian history. Employing various artistic techniques including stop motion, hand-painted film, and scratching, Rankin develops a bricolage aesthetic, in the noble sense of the term, with talent and imagination. Abundantly awarded, this quirky biographical fiction emerges as a kind of psychedelic rendition of Canadian's Heritage Minutes, with striking visual beauty and surprising narrative poetry.
