Synopsis
In 2018, an incel called Anathematic Anarchist posted a suicide note on Reddit entitled “America is responsible for my death.” This film is an attempt to find answers to his words. A virtual drift through the internet in search of his digital tracks that eventually turns into an inner journey between our connected solitudes.

"Why are these rivers / Suddenly flowing down our cheeks / In the anthill / It's the ultra-modern solitude." These song lyrics come to mind here. The anthill is the internet and its infinite possibilities of connections and exposure. The ultra-modern solitude is the solitude we sometimes feel in front of this endless serendipity. It's also the solitude of incels, those creatures of the networks who express their pain and hatred of women through digital channels. Gala Hernández López delivers an investigation composed of images recorded online, like an ultra-connected found-footage with strong sociological value. She unveils, with a form of melancholy, the very complex relationship to the world of incels, which she does not judge, as the fictional bias is that of a "crush" that binds her to one of them. The artist-researcher synthesizes her work on 2.0 masculinities through an investigation. What dominates here is the plastic dimension of hatred. This is also what establishes the visual and narrative power of this film dedicated to bell hooks, who also closely studied men and love.
